Mitsubishi Outlander LS Black Edition and New 7-Seat ES Revealed

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is kicking off the new year by giving one of the country’s favorite medium SUVs a dark and moody makeover. The brand has officially announced the Outlander LS Black Edition, a limited-run model that blends high-end aesthetics with premium interior upgrades.

Alongside the Black Edition, Mitsubishi is also making the practical 5+2 seating configuration available to private buyers on the entry-level ES 2WD grade.

The Outlander LS Black Edition: Style Meets Substance

The LS Black Edition is designed for drivers who want their family hauler to have a bit more “edge.” While it’s based on the mid-spec LS, it borrows heavily from the more expensive Aspire variant to offer a luxury feel at a more accessible price point.

What’s New on the Outside?

The exterior is defined by a “murdered-out” aesthetic. Every piece of trim that was previously chrome or body-colored has been given the midnight treatment:

  • Two-tone black roof and black roof rails.
  • 18-inch black alloy wheels.
  • Black Dynamic Shield and fog lamp bezels.
  • Blacked-out “belt line” moldings and side mirrors.

Interior & Performance Upgrades

Inside, the LS Black Edition steps up the comfort game with microsuede seat trim and synthetic leather bolsters. Drivers also get 8-way power adjustment and heated front seats—features typically reserved for higher trims.

Under the hood, this edition comes standard with Mitsubishi’s Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, ensuring the “Road Trip” capability lives up to the aggressive looks.

More Room for the Family: Outlander ES 5+2

In a move that will please growing families on a budget, Mitsubishi has unlocked the Outlander ES 2WD 5+2 for private buyers. Previously restricted to fleet customers, this version offers the flexibility of a third row in the more affordable 2WD entry-level trim.

The Verdict: If you need the extra seats but don’t need the complexity of AWD, the ES 5+2 is now one of the most cost-effective ways to transport seven people.

Pricing and Availability

The updated Outlander range will begin arriving in Australian dealerships in February 2026.

Peace of Mind: The 10/10/10 Diamond Advantage

One of the strongest selling points for the Outlander remains Mitsubishi’s Diamond Advantage program. This market-leading aftersales package includes:

  • 10-Year/200,000km Warranty (when serviced at a Mitsubishi dealer).
  • 10-Year Capped Price Servicing.
  • 10-Year Roadside Assistance.

The Outlander LS Black Edition offers a compelling middle ground for those who find the base ES too plain but aren’t ready to jump to the flagship Exceed prices.
